Thank you for visiting Lisa Christine's Writing. The purpose of this site is to inspire and encourage through the written word. What better place to find nuggets of Godly advice than in the book of Proverbs. Each posting in Life Outside the Womb will be based on a Scripture from Proverbs.  Life Essentials Get wisdom! Get understanding! Do not forget, nor turn away from the words of my mouth. Do not forsake her, and she will preserve you; Love her, and she will keep you. Wisdom is the principal thing; Therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding. (Proverbs 4:5-7 NKJV) In Proverbs 4:1-7, Solomon tells his sons the importance of having wisdom and understanding. These two qualities stayed with Solomon since childhood. When he was a youngster his dad, King David told him to not lose sight of wisdom and understanding. What is it I hope my daughter remembers? What words of mine will she cherish? Growing up, the art of thankfulness was instilled in me. Every birthday, Christmas, and graduation gift I received, would be followed by a thank you note. At times it was a chore to think of something clever to say. How thrilled could I have been at the plaid socks or raincoat I received, for example. At my young age I didn’t have a clue how delighted the gift giver would be when she opened her mailbox to find a note addressed to her attention. After the envelope was torn, the person found a card with my sincere thanks. She was pleased and the act of blessings and thankfulness came full circle once again. With the conveniences of email and cell phones, sometimes the art of letter writing gets lost, nonetheless, t plan to pass it along to my child. Lord, May I make a conscience effort to use my words carefully. May I be a good example for my children. May they never lose sight of the value found in Godly wisdom and understanding.
